I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this.

I transferred videos from my camera to my old (a few years old) computer. When I emailed myself the videos (mp4, avi, mpg, and wmv) and tried to watch them on this (modern, up-to-date) laptop, the sound is fine, but the visuals are choppy to the point of being unwatchable. I've tried everything, and nothing works. It's driving me insane. I want to string together a bunch of videos on Movie Maker to make a longer movie, but it ends up looking choppy no matter what.

Are they choppy on the old computer?

Are you using VLC on the new computer? Definitely try VLC first.

They look fine on the old computer.

This is what a video looks like when I upload it to Youtube from this new computer - http://youtu.be/-vs80206_yQ

I've never heard of a problem where a video is okay on one computer, but messed up when xferring to another. How exactly are you xferring it?
